When the sun goes down
With everyone running out of town
And my face is torn and worn out in frowns
I will call on you oh Lord even while I drown
My voice stifled by the waters,
My mind clouded with different bothers,
Even when I can’t help but to suffer,
I’ll call on you Oh Lord, today and after.
In times of chaos, I’ll pay no heed to the deceptions they utter,
I’ll look up to you even when my plans may falter,
Believing alone in the one true Messiah,
I’ll remain faithful to you oh Lord, my Father.
In times of pain, I’ll seek your grace
And trust in your loving, gentle face
My heart cries out for your divine aid
And in your love, my soul will be made.
Even when the light seems lost
And my heart is torn or frost
Though deeds appear doomed from the start
I’ll call on You, oh Lord, with pure heart.
In every trial and every pain,
I’ll stand firm, Oh Lord, in your holy reign,
For with you, I find my solace and gain,
And in your embrace, all sorrows wane.
So hear thee, hear thee, the Lord doesn’t fail,
Even though painful tears may mark the narrow trail,
The joy that cometh forth with the morning light,
Smothers all the dark nights of mourning’s plight.
Through the darkest nights and the tempest’s roar,
When my strength fades and I can’t take anymore,
In the silence of despair, I’ll whisper your name,
For I know, Oh Lord, you’ll extinguish the flame.
The storm may rage and ravage the land,
Leaving barrenness in its hand,
Yet all things must return to their place,
So hear me, hear me, the Lord is here, in this desolate space.
When the world turns cold and shadows consume,
I’ll hold on to the hope that you’ll see me through,
For your love is a beacon in the deepest gloom,
Guide me, Oh Lord, to where the flowers bloom.
