Our great community is now registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as Metro Poetry House Club – a literary and cultural organization dedicated to the promotion of poetry, literary arts, and cultural expression across diverse platforms and communities.
We are popularly known as Naija Poetry Fest, and we still maintain that for identity sake on all our platforms.
However, Naija Poetry Fest (NPF) is the name of our premier annual event. It is held every year on March 21st in commemoration of World Poetry Day. This festival serves as a national celebration of poetic excellence, creative expression, and cultural heritage, drawing poets, performers, writers, and audiences from across Nigeria and beyond.
Our monthly in-person events at Alliance Française de Lagos (Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi) are now formally branded as Poetic Rendezvous. These gatherings provide a vibrant space for live performances, artistic collaboration, and literary discourse, strengthening our physical community of creatives.
The Metro Poetry House Club/Naija Poetry Fest Community remains active and engaged across a range of digital platforms, including:
– Weekly Literary Sessions hosted on our WhatsApp Group Platform
– WhatsApp Channel for timely updates and curated content
– Social Media Presence on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, where we showcase poetry performances, event highlights, and community features.
In addition to our main community platform, we maintain several specialized teams responsible for the smooth functioning and growth of our initiatives:
- Media Team – Handles content creation, photography, videography, and digital production
- Event Team – Manages logistics, coordination, and execution of all physical and virtual events
- Publicity Team – Oversees public relations, promotions, and media outreach
- Admin Team – Ensures governance, communication, and administrative support across all activities
