Naija Poetry Fest Community (NPFC) × Alliance Francaise/Mike Adenuga Center Presents Octopus Grab Poetic Slam
Theme: “Poetry in motion”
Calling all poets and spoken word artists!
We invite you to participate in our poetic slam competition, where you can showcase your talents and win exciting prizes during our festival marking World Poetry Day.
Criteria for Winning:
The entire competition will be conducted in Two Rounds.
The First Round is strictly on the theme for the day “Poetry in motion”
While the Second Round is any poem of your choice.
To be considered for the top prize, submissions must meet the following criteria:
👉 Emotional Resonance: Evokes strong emotions in the viewer.
👉 Concise Delivery: Renditions should not be longer than 5 minutes.
👉 Originality and Creativity: Showcase unique perspectives or experiences in line with the theme.
👉 Spoken Word Poetry
Selection Process:
A panel of judges will select the top three submissions that meet the criteria.
The winners will receive:
1st Prize: N200,000
2nd Prize: N150,000
3rd Prize: N100,000
Consolation Prizes:
Five (5) outstanding poets that demonstrate strong poetic or spoken word skills will receive a consolation prize of N10,000 each.
Registration:
All poets performing are to register at the venue on or before 4pm Friday, 21st of March, 2025.
